Road Trip - Tulsa

BRAND IDENTITY

The urban landscape of Tulsa was the main influence in my design decisions in the logotype for Tulsa, as well as its relationship with the imagery. Looking from an aerial perspective, Tulsa reminded me of the intertwining and intersecting of a myriad of ribbons - the intersecting highways and bridges at the entrance of the city, the flows of the Arkansas river, the curving pathways of the Gathering Place Park along the river.

The colors for this system were inspired by the abundant greenery around the city, the blue of the river, the colorful sunsets, as well as the night illumination of the city. The colors are applied to the photographs of the city to create duotone images which can be used as a background for text, and become part of the look and feel of the brand system.

THE ROAD TRIP SERIES

The Road Trip Series includes four distinct logotypes for four cities. I created visual systems around three of them - Flagstaff, Santa Fe, and Tulsa, using the distinctive imagery intrinsic to these places in combination with the logotypes. These systems can be used as a cornerstone for a tourism campaign. You can view these by clicking on the logotypes below.
