Beauty and the Beast
PROMOTIONAL POSTERS and POSTCARDS
Beauty and the Beast is a junior production at the Sunnyvale Community Players community theater. The theater director approached me to create promotional posters and postcards to be distributed in the community to promote the shows. ​​​
​I was provided with creative freedom to create the show's logo. Since the setting of the story is 18th century France, it was a natural place to look for inspiration, and led me to create the decorative lettering reflecting the visual aesthetic of the story. The duotone color scheme helped unify the images, make the designs less busy, as they had to include a lot of text, and made the imagery and the information bolder to attract attention. The show had two casts, so we created a set of posters and postcards using similar imagery for each cast.
