Backyard Theater

LETTERING and ILLUSTRATION

The Backyard Theater started as a local Bay Area outdoor performance center for kids to get together in-person and put on plays outside during the Coronavirus pandemic. It has become a main place for the young actors to see friends, develop acting skills, sing, dance, and create unforgettable performances, while taking all the necessary pandemic precautions.

All the performances at the Backyard Theater are accompanied by live piano music, so the keyboard had to be featured as part of the graphic. The flexible design can be used on merchandise, social media, and posters. The company recently moved to Tel Aviv, Israel, so I made some adjustments, which include changing the California hummingbirds illustrations to the Israeli local hoopoes.
